Living Green Sustainable Farm is a smallholding based in Noordhoek. On the 3 acres, Sam and Cindy Adams aim for self-reliance. They have chickens, worms and a large vegetable garden. They also have some solar power and rainwater harvesting in operation.

They are currently looking at grey water systems and into expanding their livestock.

The farm is open to volunteers and enthusiasts every Saturday from 09h00-12h00. It is a space for people to escape the city and to green their hands - raising chickens, working a garden, and generally experiencing a farm type lifestyle.

Living Green, an eco-consultancy, is also run from the farm. The business looks to support others in sustainable living. Their expertise and experience covers the following:

  • Vegetable gardens and sustainable agriculture
  • Organic and Fair Trade products
  • Alternative energy (solar, wind, biogas)
  • Worm farms, bee-keeping, chickens
  • Green building options, grey water systems
  • Waste disposal, recycling, composting
