Overview
SEED is an established, award winning non-profit and public benefit organisation operating from Mitchell’s Plain on the Cape Flats. SEED has spent the last 12 years building the foundation for environmental education and developmet in schools and has pioneered permaculture programmes in the local community and under resourced schools. The Outdoor Classroom Programme is growing a movement of schools where curriculum-based learning connects children to the ecosystems that support them while filling tummies with organic food.
Rockland’s Urban Abundance Centre has grown directly out of the needs of the local community as a demonstration and education centre for sustainability that builds local resilience and offers skills training and job creation through the incubation of community enterprise.
Join us for a tour of Rocklands and learn the basics of permaculture and other innovative and practical responses to issues like climate change and the energy descent. Contact yoli@seed.org.za for bookings
