The plague column was decorated with the sculptures of the Virgin Mary and other patrons saint by Matěj Václav Jäckel, a famous sculptor in 1717 for the memory of the plague epidemic that struck the town during 1680-1682.

1680年から1682年の間、クルムロフをペストが襲った。その後、人々が再び健康をとりもどしたことを祝い、Schwarzenberg家のMarie Ernestinaが建てたペストの碑。
聖人像は、当時有名だった彫刻家Matěj Václav Jäckelによってつくられた。
2008年冬に、修復が完成した。
