Overview
Blackburn Park is 38-acre park in Webster Groves that is directly south of Highway 44. The park is located at the intersection of Edgar Road and East Jackson Road, and is easily one of the nicest parks in St. Louis county. It features three large pavilions, a playground, two baseball fields, and tennis courts. The park also has a relatively extensive wooded section and a great number of paved paths that are perfect for either walking or running.
One of the most unique features of the park though is the 10 acre bird sanctuary that occupies the south-east corner. The sanctuary features a variety of local birds and is designed to provided a protective environment to many of these species. It is easily one of the best wild bird sanctuaries in the area, and I highly recommend anyone with even a passing interest in bids/bird watching to visit.
All in all Blackburn park is one of the nicest, best planned parks in the county.
