Sheldon Concert Hall and Art Galleries
Overview
The Sheldon Concert Hall and Art Galleries hosts numerous events involving music and art. It provides various programs for students to be exposed to a wide range of music (classical, jazz, etc.). The programs take place during the week in the morning for an hour. In each program, school groups will attend a concert at 10:00 am or 10:30 am, discussions including examples, and a question-answer session. The programs present a variety of genres to students. There are grants available that provide free tickets and free parking for buses. For the field trip, the teacher is given a handbook, which provides information about what the students will be doing in the program. After the music program ends, the students are offered a free gallery tour in the art galleries of the venue lasting 20 – 30 minutes (teacher must request tour in advance). The site is accessible to people with disabilities and ask that visitors contact their site to purchase tickets for special setting and other necessities, such as parking. It is an enriching experience that provides students and visitors with meaning full experiences in art and music.
