Pell Street
Overview
The architecture and buildings on Pell Street have retained much of what they looked like in the nineteenth century. During that time, this neighborhood was largely Irish with a mixture of Jews and Italians. The street contained many apartments above shops where up to a dozen men would reside, filled wall to wall with beds. This street was a cultural melting pot and intersection of many cultures.
