Organic/Local FoodVolunteer Site

No votes yet

The Hillcrest Family Services School Garden provides vocational training to about 30 students who learn to tend the garden, harvest and sell the produce at the local Farmer's Market. The garden includes beehives and 25 varieties of food. After supplying the school lunch, surplus produce is sold at the Farmer's Market and proceeds are used to fund the school's vocational and recreational programs. Volunteers are welcome to help with this project. Contact John Bellini, Director of Residencial Education for further information at the Hillcrest offices at 2005 Asbury Rd., Dubuque. 563-583-7357
