Msinsi is a 7ha reserve containing a small area of coastal grassland, which is relatively rare within the city. The forest area has also started regenerating from its former use as a mango tree plantation. There is also good birding at Msinsi, and in particular the resident breeding pair of Black Sparrowhawks. Small mammal species, such as banded mongoose, are also present.
