The DNA bridge is a Gainesville icon because it crosses 13th Street where it merges with Archer Rd. It is mostly used by bicyclists and pedestrians that use the trail from which the bridge is a part of. The DNA bridge connects the Shands hospital area with a high-density residential area and eventually Depot Park and downtown. Pedestrians have the option to take the stairs from 13th Street to go up to the bridge.
