PS 50 Vito Marcantonio School teaches children in Kindergarten through Eight Grade. In 2000, The Children’s Aid society established a full-service community school at PS 50 in partnership with Mount Sinai Children’s Community Health and NYC Dept of Education. The school’s main focus is health, in response to the large percentage of students with medical and emotional conditions. The school has rooftop and yard gardens and is currently creating a compost project to support their urban agriculture. 2013 Winner of First-Ever Manhattan Community Scale Composting Contest
