History of resource: This building was constructed between 1828 and 1829 for William Butler.In 1884, an application was submitted to have the first floor lowered level with the sidewalk and the brownstone was replaced with cast iron columns set in granite. In 1920, the walls and columns of the old store front were replaced with new columns and a new store front was built of copper kalamein, marble and glass. A year later, an application was submitted to modify the plumbing and drainage systems. In 1957, an application was submitted for an electric sign, and in 1967, new sprinklers were installedIt has unique structure. Upper stories of building are decorated with commercial patters.
