Overview
Common Ground Farm is a farm project that serves our community as an educational model for people of all ages to learn how foods grow, how to raise ecologically sound crops without chemical fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides, and how to keep farmland healthy for generations to come. As a working farm, we strive to interpret anew agricultural experience and tradition that is a precious part of our nation's heritage.
Full Produce Share / Working: $550, with a minimum 15 hours work over the course of the season
Small Produce Share / Working: $300, with a minimum 10 hours work over the course of the season
Full Produce Share / Non-Working: $675
Small Produce Share / Non-Working: $375
Basic Membership $25 (no produce, free admission to events/workshops)
Common Ground Farm is a farm project located on 9 acres leased from Stony Kill Environmental Center, in the Town of Fishkill, NY, dedicated to educating people of all ages about agriculture that is ecologically sound and economically viable. We are a not-for-profit corporation registered with the State of New York. Our farmer is a professional grower working in collaboration with the membership and shareholders.
ommunity Outreach
* Common Ground provides assistance for low income members of the community to participate in the CSA through our Family Wellness program.
* CGF has partners with the Beacon Community Center and other local organizations on programs such as the childhood obesity program "We Can!", which promotes active lifestyles and healthy diets to prevent obesity in youth.
* Common Ground donates fresh surplus produce each week to a local food pantry in Beacon, NY.
* The farm participates in the local Beacon Farmer's Market, held each Sunday from 10am-2pm from June through October, to help improve access to fresh, healthy food. Farmer's Market Nutrition Program coupons are accepted at the market.
