Márcio Franco was born in Lagoa Santa, Minas Gerais and fascinated about nature in a integrated coexistence with the man. He moved to Paraty 23 years ago. Some artists are inspired by others and, in Márcio’s case, he was inspired by Margaret Mee, who explored and drew beautiful pictures of Brasilian bromelias. Her art features the tropical flora identifying, classifying and cataloging the botanical species.

His works are the result of research in this Atlantic forest’s zone, through trails in the forest, waterfalls, shoreline where the virgin wood interweave with the ocean.
