Kilvey Hill
Overview
Kilvey Hill, one of Swansea’s largest woodlands (3 km2), is a prominent site on the urban fringes of the eastside of the city. Managed by Kilvey Community Woodland Volunteers, Swansea Council and Natural Resources Wales (NRW), it is a young woodland and a refuge for wildlife in the city, incorporating a variety of habitats including both conifer and broadleaved woodland, heathland, wetland, meadow and grassland. Its designations include Site of Importance for Nature Conservation. The volunteers organise regular events throughout the year and the Council and NRW carry out management work.
