Washington Road Stream Restoration Project

Overview
Alongside Washington Road runs the Washington Road Stream, flowing downhill into Lake Carnegie. The stream and four acres of woodland along the stream have been restored with new plantings. As part of the restoration, several small pools have been added to decrease the flow rate of the stream, ultimately slowing the erosion of stream banks and reducing sediment load in Lake Carnegie. The Washington Road woodland is part of a larger University-wide reforestation project, which will ultimately result in 10 acres of woodland reconstruction.
