Overview

Anexio is a technology company that manages day-to-day IT operations and provides IT security for small businesses. The company effectively communicates its environmental goals during staff meetings and new employee orientations. Anexio has implemented recycling programs and reduced its energy output by switching to compact fluorescent bulbs, eliminating unnecessary lighting, and using an Energy Management System to automatically turn off idle equipment. The company also promotes carpooling and minimizes on-site visits to client to reduce fuel usage.

Anexio became a Sarasota County Green Business Partner in 2009. The Green Business Partnership (GBP) encourages environmental stewardship in the commercial sector, and recognizes businesses that make an extra effort to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This collaborative effort includes businesses, business organizations and local governments. The GBP was initiated through a grant awarded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to Sarasota County.
