BBlue Sky Solar Group is a consulting/engineering procurement and construction provider for commercial solar projects. The Photovoltaic arrays that Blue Sky has designed and/or built range from a 2.5MW system on the Pearl Harbor Naval Base in Hawaii, to a 50kW Naval Barracks in the Florida Keys. Blue Sky Solar is currently installing a 2MW system on the Norfolk Keys Naval Base and a 1.6MW array on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. With this volume of work, Blue Sky has the ability to procure products and financing directly from the leading manufacturers. Blue Sky was founded by David Schroeders, an engineer by education and general contractor for 25 years. David created a organization focused on both the big picture and the small details which make Blue Sky projects especially unique and profitable.

The headquarters of Blue Sky Solar Group is a zero energy building, meaning there is zero net energy consumption and zero carbon emissions annually. As a Green Business Partner, Blue Sky Solar Group is committed to reducing waste, increasing recycling, and conserving water and energy, where possible. Blue Sky Solar Group also participates in FPL's "Business On Call Program".

In October of 2012, Blue Sky Solar Group installed a 10,000 watt (10kW) solar roof and solar awnings at the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, supplying the Chamber building with over 10% of its power needs.

Blue Sky Construction Management became a Sarasota County Green Business Partner in 2012. The Green Business Partnership (GBP) encourages environmental stewardship in the commercial sector, and recognizes businesses that make an extra effort to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This collaborative effort includes businesses, business organizations and local governments. The GBP was initiated through a grant awarded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to Sarasota County.
