Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA)
Overview
The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) is a non-profit organization that thrives to teach the public about environmental issues, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainable living. MREA hosts many workshops and events at different locations throughout the year to educate and inform the public. Event topics include wind turbines, solar hot water heating, photovoltaics, sustainable building, and straw bale construction.
MREA is located at the ReNew the Earth Institute in Custer, Wisconsin. MREA is open for public tours during weekdays after 1 p.m. with a suggested $1 per person donation. To arrange a group tour, call (715)-592-6595. The office is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Self tours are welcome anytime.
