Environmental Education

Overview

No votes yet

"South Splott Residents Association aims to engage local residents in activities to improve the local environment and raise awareness of local issues. There is a significant problem with anti social behaviour so we encourage younger members to make a positive impact in the community they live in through environmental activities. These events that we organise help bring the community together socially. This project increases awareness within the community, to help volunteers and local children to learn about and understand environmental issues whilst giving them opportunities that they might otherwise be denied from living in an inner city. Concurrently, we help local children and young adults take practical action to improve our environmental quality, through activities such as planting, painting, litter picks and building bird boxes. SSRA promotes its activities and aims in a regular newssheet and through events that it organises locally. There is an emphasis to encourage those with learning difficulties to contribute to the group."
