Overview
The 3,000-square foot garden is planted with dogwoods, redbuds, evergreens and camellias as well as plantings with anti-cancer properties.or example, the groundcover Madagascar periwinkle is used in the production of the drug vinblastine; a compound from the bark of the yew tree is used in developing pacilitaxel; and autumn crocus is being tested for use in the treatment of leukemia. Visitors who enjoy the sites and sounds of the healing garden might be unaware that it flourishes atop a parking deck. The garden provides a green space in the midst of a concrete campus.
