Dubuque Arboretum & Botanical Gardens
Overview
This 52 acre public garden at Marshall Park was established in 1980 and is run entirely by volunteers. It boasts the largest public hosta garden in the US (13,000 with 700 varieties), recognized by the National Hosta Society.
The various gardens include: Formal Rose Garden, Bausman Old Garden Roses, English Knot Garden, Formal English Garden, Herb Garden, McGreger's Children's Garden, Hosta Garden, Japanese Garden, Children's Flower and Vegetable Garden, Iowa State and All American Test Gardens, Annual and Perennial Gardens and Dwarf Conifers.
This is also the venue for free Sunday concerts, April through October. The open air facilities are available for luncheons and meetings on a you-bring-your-own basis.
There is NO admission charge. All exhibits are free. A donation is always welcome and is tax deductible. (501-C-3)

Since this is a City of Dubuque Park, there are no pets allowed.
Hours: May 1 to Oct. 31, 7 am to dusk, seven days a week. Nov. 1 to May 1, 10 am to 3 pm, closed Saturday and Sunday, Closed Thanksgiving Day, December 25 through January 1.
