Routes and Areas
Info
Ever wandered past a piece of land or unloved corner of where you live and thought how nice it would be to grow fruit and veg there? Would you like to explore your area and look for these spaces? Or ever fancied venturing into a different part of the village and seeing it with new eyes?
Community Voice in partnership with First Campus and Communities First are pleased to announce the next mapping walk. We will be exploring parts of Ynysybwl and Glyncoch.
What do you map?
Any area that's unloved, neglected, has space for beds or planters or could generally be an interesting place to grow. We don't map obviously private space like people's gardens nor obviously cared for space like parks (although if there's a corner in need of some TLC that's fine). Examples so far include large pavements with space for planters as well as pedestrians; bits of grass in front of billboards; a wall beside the River and roundabouts. It's all about looking for the potential.
What don't you do?
We don't research who owns the space, this would be up to a group if they wish to come together and grow there. We rely on people’s common sense, intelligence and wish to come together to look at an area creatively and with fresh eyes.
