The center is based in Gwynn's Falls/Leakin Park, one of the nation's largest urban parks encompassing over 1,000 acres of mainly undisturbed mature forest, containing oak, tulip and beech trees, interspersed with streamside meadows and rocky cliffs. The Crimea Estate, located within the park, serves as the center of operations for BCBOBC and houses our Insight Day Programs, which utilize our Action Learning Course including our climbing wall. Meeting facilities include the ballroom of the historical mansion and the newly constructed Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Leadership Center.

The center's mission is to build leadership capacity within communities by providing students, educators, school administrators, community leaders and professionals- within the metropolitan areas served by Outward Bound Baltimore - with opportunities to develop a better understanding of their capabilities and value to their community. This mission will be carried out through challenging experiences that are safely structured to enhance leadership, self-esteem, self-reliance and concern for others, service to the community and care for the environment.
