Monument of the symbolic fire

Inaugurated on April 21st, 1960, during the cellebration of 27th anniversary of the city, the marble and granite pyre is lit with an eternal flame. It is one of the four sculptures that Niemeyer designed to complement the adjacent Pantheon building.
