This local photographer who moved to villages in 1970s has his own gallery. Michael participates in numerous activities, including his oyster reef development promoting a sound ecosystem for our area.

Michael is recognized for documenting island wildlife as well as cultural resources (e.g., fish houses, watermen). Michael’s photographs have been widely published and are available at his gallery in Waves. In addition, Michael volunteers with various local and state agencies and organizations to help with water quality sampling, oyster reefs and healthy eco-systems. He maintains oysters at his sound-front home and has helped with various marine research programs at the Cape Hatteras Secondary School of Coastal studies.
