Overview
SW Distance Learning Centre is an online school offering courses to K-12 students across Saskatchewan.
Our Environment Committee meets monthly to discuss ideas for improving the sustainability of our school.
Through our composting program, we have diverted on average over 400 L of food scraps (mainly coffee grounds and fruit peels) per year from the landfill.
We have active worm bins (vermicomposting) as well as an outdoor compost bin.
Other initiatives of interest we are exploring include alternative energy sources, xeriscape gardening, and an indoor bee observation hive.
