Rezumat
The Bike Kitchen maintains a community space that provides access to professional bike tools and volunteers with bike maintenance expertise so that community members can repair their bikes for free. The Bike Kitchen also runs an earn-a-bike program that allows individuals to earn a free bike by volunteering 20 hours at the Kitchen.
The Kitchen promotes utilitarian cycling through its programs. The Kitchen's collection of used parts and bike frames encourages cyclists to recycle instead of buy new. Bikes are kept out of the dump. We create plans for trailers and cold weather gear to further promote everyday cycling. Partially fund programs by selling upcycled t-shirts and cycling caps.
Sells locally-produced t-shirts and local art. Organic garden provides free produce for kitchen volunteers.
