Rezumat

Situated in the heart of the Winelands at the foot of Helderberg Mountain, the beautiful setting of Africa Lodge offers you comfortable and stylish accommodation. The swimming pool and large garden are absolutely private. Secure off-road parking space is available.

Surrounded by many famous wine estates, Somerset West is the ideal base for exploring the entire Cape Peninsula.

We have a large (3000m2 garden) with lots of trees, shrubs, flowers, birds, butterflies and two big tortoises.

We separate everything for recycling: glass, paper, tins, etc. No food is wasted - fruit peels for the tortoises, leftovers for the people in need, clothes, shoes (guests leave a lot of things), soaps, body lotion etc. go to a shelter or the rotary club. The garden waste is composted. Our grey water goes to the garden. We kindly ask our guests to save water as it is very precious in this country – we have an information board in each bathroom.

We buy our food locally, make our own jams (we have an orchard) and complimentary bread without preservatives, we use environment friendly cleaning materials. We try to avoid foreign products (towels, bedding, linen, soaps etc.). It’s all made in South Africa.
