East River Greenway
Übersicht
The Bikesplorers quickly noted the difference between the East River Greenway and the Hudson River Park when we rode to the High Line. "I really like riding on the west side. The bike paths are way better and smooth. It clearly shows the econonomic difference between these two sides of Manhattan."- Xue Yun Gao Bikesplorations 2010.
Improvement to close the gap on the east side are taking place, but slowly. In 1999, New York City's Economic Development Corporation completed a one mile stretch of the Greenway from and Esplanade from Fulton Street to Montgomery Street. This portion of the East River Greenway is well used by cyclist and pedestrians but it is also a desitnation for people to practice Tai Chi or to go fishing.
