Sideways wants to accentuate the different qualities of slow paths. Throughout the journey, the festival highlights sustainable initiatives in the cracks of urban development. Lanes to walk and bike safely, leisure, play and recreation in everyday spaces, opportunities for nature to develop in a highly urbanized and fragmented country such as Belgium. Slow paths are far more than connections to move from point A to point B. Walking and cycling tracks appear as key drivers of a transition to a low-carbon footprint.
