Green Mount Cemetery

One of the earliest rural or garden cemeteries in the United States, Green Mount serves as a place of nature and a respite of calm in the city. Numerous trees and winding paths join the impressive statues and monuments. This cemetery marks the final resting places of many of Baltimore's most famous mayors, Maryland's governors, and Baltimore philanthropists and industrialists. Samuel Walker, a Baltimore tobacco merchant, led the campaign to establish the cemetery after visiting Mount Auburn Cemetery in 1834. Green Mount is also frequented by bird watchers.
Visitors are encouraged to take self-guided tours or driving tours; guided group tours are also available year-round. Please call the cemetery or e-mail tours@greenmountcemetery.com for more information.
Hours
- Monday - Friday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM (office and grounds)
- Saturday: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (office); 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM (grounds)
In cases of inclement weather, please call before visiting.

- maritafifiToday, I went to tthe beach with my children. I fkund a ssea shell and gave it to my 4 yer old daughter and saiod "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear."
She put the shell too her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched herr ear. She never
wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell
someone!
