Solutia is a St. Louis based company that specializes in creating performance materials and specialty chemicals. These duties includes maintaining the durability of solar energy molecules by transporting heat energy to solar power plants and by creating more energy efficient glass in order to keep buildings greener. In addition to creating quality products that benefit both consumers and the environment, Solutia also makes the commitment to keep the community as healthy as possible. They fund an annual marathon in downtown St. Louis which helps promote healthy living to the public and participants. A recent graduate of the Honors College is the Community Relations Director at Solutia which provides a link to the UMSL community.
