MISSION STATEMENT:
Faith Lutheran Church, people of God by grace alone, come together to give praise to our Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer. To proclaim the Good News in word and deed, to the World and our community. To expand our loving church family, using technology and progress with God's Word still holding us solid. And to nurture God's Children as we respond in Faith to God's Love.

VISION STATEMENT:
To be an ELCA Lutheran Church that displays the true, unending love of Christ. To promote peace, social justice, and grace throughout all we do.
As a green partner, Faith Lutheran Church is taking steps to have a positive impact. The first of these steps was to create an active green team that meets to discuss programs and projects throughout the church. These projects include having an Earth day coffee hour, showing Earthbound videos and going electronic with their newsletters – that include a green tip of the week. The church has an active recycling program that includes battery collection. The staff uses reusable kitchen wares and coffee mugs, and compostable coffee cups are provided for members and guests.
By using their comprehensive energy audit, Faith Lutheran has established a series of energy reduction measures. The building uses T-8 electronic ballasts, lighting control sensors and was designed to use increased natural lighting during the renovation. The staff ensures that lights are turned off in unused sections of the church buildings, computer monitors are shut down when not in use and the sunshades are down in classroom areas – all leading to additional energy efficiency. Because of these measures, during their energy audit it was noted that their building is one of the most efficient facilities based on kW usage comparisons.
The church conserves water by installing automatic turn-off faucets with aerators and low-flow toilets. They use Florida native and low-maintenance plants that predominantly rely on rainfall. Landscaping does not require any fertilizers or pesticides, and utilizes the more sustainable melaleuca mulch (rather than cypress)

Faith Lutheran Church became a Sarasota County Green Business Partner in 2015. The Green Business Partnership (GBP) encourages environmental stewardship in the commercial sector, and recognizes businesses that make an extra effort to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This collaborative effort includes businesses, business organizations and local governments. The GBP was initiated through a grant awarded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to Sarasota County.
