yes - Great potential with the big planters that the council puts out to plant edible crops a la incredible edible Todmorden
lovely idea.
I think roundabouts are great places for nut trees - no squirrels!
I agree - nice bit of lawn here with definite potential for food growing.
Have spoken to everyone in the parish and there is a lot of enthusiasm to go ahead with a community garden. People have offered to give their time and expertise as well as donating an apple tree and a plum tree in memory of loved ones who have died. The space has a lot of potential and hopefully work will begin soon. I will try to keep the site updated with progress and more photos.
Group met with Sam Holt and Michele Fitzsimmons and will hopefully have a chance to run a course in Feb/March on community garden design and community cohesion.
I think planting in this specific area is good for the school because it is in sight so most of the pupils, teachers and visitors will see it and it will look attractive. It is a good place to plant because it has plenty of sunlight, it is an open area , its not windy and it is a large space. Also the area is not actually being used for anything at the moment so it would be great to get something like that out there.
I think that planting in the school will benefit the school because it will make it a better and more beautiful, loving enviroment and more students will want to come and learn here.

hope you enjoy :)

Dear Mr Elliston
We are organising an over 50's event here at the Ely & Caerau Hub on the 25th Auguist 2015 from 10 -2pm.
We are looking to provide information on traininig, employment, volunteering and services.
We will have around 25 partners, employers and service providers attending and were wondering whether you would be interested in attending. We thought perhaps you could promote the growing of fruit and vegetables, not only on allotments but in individual's gardens but of course any involvment would be great.
If you think it's a viable propostion please let me know.
Many thanks,
David Devonald

Hi I coordinate the Taffs Community Currency Scheme and just wanted to thank you at Cardiff Transtition for adding our group to the Sustainable Cardiff map, and just to put word out that we are looking to build up our database, so please take a look at the website and see what A)On offer and B)Add something that you can offer, some people say that they don't know what to offer but it can be as simple as time to help someone. Our monthly trading sessions take place currently in Cathays Community Centre, Cathays Terrace, Cardiff on the first Sat of every month and some members bring secondhand items to trade there for the jams, plants, seeds and crafts on offer that other members make or grow. We have a great network of sustainably minded people, please join in, Ian, Taffs Coordinator. www.cardifftaffs.org.uk

Thanks All. Just need to keep the wisteria in check now to ensure the best return! Really tidy job and done very economically.
Great job, thanks. All working well and bills have reduced dramatically. Team was friendly, professional and did a really tidy piece of work.
"The work you carried out inside and outside was excellent. It was a pleasant experience for us. You all had consideration for us and our property."
Many Thanks to you all. Chris and Gaynor Simms, Griffithstown, August, 2011.
"We have been very pleased with the service that we have received from Urban Solar. One of the deciding factors for us choosing Urban Solar as our preferred supplier was that they provided us with jargon-free advice and guidance on the right installation for our needs. We were filled with confidence by their knowledge, expertise and desire to find a package that met all our requirements.
They clearly communicated all the various stages to us and patiently guided us through the process in a polite and considerate manner. All the commitments which were made to us at the start have been fulfilled with the installation work being completed on time. The after-care service has also been excellent ensuring that the necessary paperwork with the utility company was completed so we were not left in the lurch.
We would highly recommend Urban Solar to anyone wanting to install solar panels – they are an efficient, professional and knowledgeable organisation dedicated to finding the right solution for their customer." The Reverend Stewart and Karen Lisk, Solva & Cardiff, September, 2011.
